"Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear -- kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor -- with the cry of grave national emergency... Always there has been some terrible evil to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant sums demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real." -- General Douglas MacArthur, 1957
MeepMeep! Howdy all! Long time no see and all that! How've you been? I've been swell. Busy, but swell. I finally got a real job. One of those damnsed grown-up type jobs where I go to the same place every day at pretty much the same time give or take. It's cool, I don't need to drive my dumb car anymore, and I keep winning these raffles for not driving. Also, I get an employee discount on the products we make! Pretty damn awesome, and I like it - I can't believe I get payed to do it even.
But... I realise I've been neglecting one entire aspect of life: ARTNESS! Hence my return. I tried drawing again, but it's shockingly puerile. I keep threatening to resort to extreme measures, such as practice, but I know by experience that's mostly an idle threat.
Oops, I mean happy non denominational secular wintertime holiday-like substance.
What I'm kinda sad about is the expiration of my dev account. It's not that big of a deal, but I didn't realise how helpful having full membership was to the whole participation on this site had really become! Maybe a little more than just helpful. So anyway, I might be even less prone to commenting on stuff, or even replying to comments for awhile. If I even do at all! I'll probably end up renewing because there are just too many people around these parts who i simply adore who I still want to watch and stalk and annoy and love and such. Bleh. Yarg. Et cetera.
